AIGA Philadelphia Design Awards (PDA) 2008 Exhibition Catalog
The project is a catalog design for American Institute of Graphic Arts, Philadelphia Design Competition. In the preliminary stages of the catalog, gdloft focused on representing all designs, winners or not, as well as creating a book to serve as “art” within the context of a gallery (for the winners exhibition). The catalog print-run was limited to the same amount of entries received (576) to represent all the work of the design community. Using a variable printing program, each cover is a different color of a predetermined spectrum; thus, making each catalog entirely unique— no two pieces are identical. In addition, each catalog was individually numbered. When all the catalogs are stacked together the spines create a seamless spectrum of color that produces the quality of a sculpture.
